His experience includes litigating business disputes in state and federal courts – representing debtors, creditors, and other interested parties in out-of-court workouts and bankruptcy cases – and advising businesses and their owners on general and transactional matters.

His primary focus is on the resolution of complex restructuring matters, both in and out of court, with an emphasis on business-related Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies.

Professionally, Mr. Bury is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Macon Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar Association.  He is also a Barrister in the W. Homer Drake, Jr. Georgia Bankruptcy American Inn of Court. Mr. Bury regularly gives presentations around Georgia on bankruptcy and business law topics.

Personally, Mr. Bury is an active member of the Macon community. He and his family attend Northway Church. During his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, being involved in his daughters’ sports activities, and cheering for all things Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.

Before returning home to Middle Georgia, he was an Associate at Tuggle Duggins & Meschan, P.A., a full service firm in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was a member of their Business and Tax and Bankruptcy practice groups.

While in law school, he served as a Notes and Comments Editor on the Wake Forest Law Review and a teaching assistant in the writing program. Before law school, he was a management consultant at a Chicago-based firm where he advised numerous Fortune 500 companies. At the University of Georgia, he was a Georgia Governor’s Scholar, a University of Georgia Alumni Scholar, and a recipient of the Honors Program Certificate of Achievement.
