Mr.
Thomason joined the firm of Stone & Baxter on
October 1, 2005 after having been a partner in the
business litigation section in the Macon office of
Arnall Golden Gregory LLP for approximately 20 years.
He has concentrated his practice in commercial litigation
with an emphasis on the Uniform Commercial Code.
He has represented and acted as local counsel for
numerous national corporations with litigation venued
in federal courts as well as the state courts of
Georgia. Mr. Thomason has also been involved in litigation
arising out of agricultural transactions. Included
in his experience is the representations of buyers,
sellers and brokers in commodity transactions and
the representation of a national manufacturer of
farm equipment in its retail financing division.
He also has had extensive experience representing
corporate shareholders, officers and directors in
internal corporate disputes.
Mr. Thomason was born
in Macon, Georgia in 1948. He served on active duty
in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1972.
He is a graduate of the University of Georgia (AB,
Cum Laude, 1975) and of the Walter F. George School
of Law, Mercer University (JD 1978). He was a member of the Moot Court
Board and a member of the State Moot Court Team. He has been awarded an “AV” rating
by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
Mr. Thomason has been a lecturer for The National
Business Institute, Inc.; contributed to Georgia
corporation law, Kaplan’s Nadler; and was a
panelist for The American Arbitration Association.
He is currently a panelist with South Georgia ADR
Service LLC.
He is admitted to practice in the State
and Appellate Courts of Georgia; United States District
Courts for the Middle and Southern District of Georgia
and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
