Mr.
Watson, a partner in the firm, was born in Macon,
Georgia in 1971. He is a 1996 graduate of the Mercer
University Walter F. George School of Law in Macon,
Georgia where he earned his Juris Doctor, and a graduate
of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he
earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1993. He also attended
summer programs offered by Cornell University and
the University of New Hampshire.
Mr.
Watson has practiced in a number of legal fields,
but he has narrowed his emphasis into several
complementary business and corporate disciplines
including business formation, financing, and start-up;
commercial transactions; contracts; real estate
transactions (residential and commercial); environmental;
land use; Chapter 11 corporate bankruptcy (debtor
and creditor); and international law. These practice
areas together with his former experience in areas
of general tort, workers compensation, and employment
law provide Mr. Watson with a unique perspective
in assisting his clients in a variety of business
aspects and issues. In addition to his regional
practice, he has also represented and assisted
clients in cross-border and international matters.
Mr. Watson has litigated cases in both state and
federal courts in Georgia, as well as cases in
other foreign jurisdictions.
Mr.
Watson was born and raised in Macon, Georgia and has
always been a part of the Macon community. After receiving
his J.D., Mr. Watson practiced in Augusta, Georgia
for several years before returning to his hometown.
Mr. Watson is a member of several state bar sections
and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Macon as well
as several other charitable organizations.
